We offer two different grades of metal finishes from Basic- bead blasted (when needed) and sanded to 240 grit for a nice matte finish and Deluxe -sanded to 600 grit to a smooth finish. All barrel work gets the same treatment to ensure a consistent finish. Barrels will have the old bluing removed and finished to the grade chosen then the bluing process applied. We use a Hot/Cold Bluing, using either Arts Belgian Blue or Oxpho Blue. If a barrel is too pitted to just sand/clean and more time is needed to smooth the surface the hourly rate will apply. If other parts require bluing, an additional charge will be added based on the number of parts and condition. The prices listed for revolvers may vary due to the degree of difficulty in finishing the metal, and handguns whether the whole gun is to be done or just the slide.
Stainless Steel can be taken to the next level with an Ultra finish. This is where we take the barrel and polish it to a mirror finish.
Long Guns, Rifles and Single Single Barrel Shotgun $150.00
Handguns - slide and frame $140.00
Slides only $65.00
Stainless Steel Barrels (Metal finishing, no bluing) $110.00
We can also Duracoat any barrel with Clear Matte, Satin or Gloss for added protection if so desired. Please contact us for pricing.
** We can also do spot bluing to fix blemishes but there is no guarantee that the finished product will be consistent.**
Reworking or accurizing a bolt is a process of taking the hard corners off the bolt to reduce friction giving the bolt a smoother action. This includes checking the head space. Add smoothing and polishing to give you the smoothest action in your semi automatic firearms. Jeweling does nothing for the action, but it does look nice. All bolts will be put into one of our firearms and tested for function prior to being returned to it's owner. (When applicable)
Rework/Accurize (Brushed finish) $35.00
Smooth and Polish face $20.00 additional
Mirror Polish face $30.00 additional
Jeweling/Engine Turning $20.00 additional
(Smooth and Polish receiver internal) ($20.00 additional)
Hot Oil Blue (Darkens and give a purple/blue case color hardened look) ($25.00 additional)
** Hot Oil Bluing can be done to just about any steel parts. Keep in mind, it does not offer any protection from rust or the elements as it is only the carbonizing of the metal turning the color to either a Yellowish brown, Dark Grey, Purblish Blue, or a Light Blue. If you would like other parts of your firearm, bolt handle or pistol barrel Hot Oil Blued please contact us for more info.
We can polish anything form steel to aluminum. Receivers to barrel to triggers. If the parts need to be bead blasted first to remove the old finish, we can do that too. We charge by the hourly rate for these services as every job is different.
Hourly Rate $50.00
