Class: What is the Right Firearm for You?
AKA - Gun Ownership 101
Here is the scenario...
So you just got your Concealed Weapons License...... Now what? Oh yeah, go to the local gun store (LGS), look around in awe, then talk to the guy behind the counter and let him sell you the biggest, baddest, newest killing machine there is. Or go to the next gun show, look around in amazement, then talk to the guy behind the table and have the same thing happen.
Ok, so you are new to the world of gun ownership and you are a little confused and maybe a bit scared or hesitant as to what to do next. That is how you should feel.... Making the decision to own a gun for home protection or personal protection (Concealed Carry) is nothing to be taken lightly. The Concealed Weapons Class tells you about the legal aspect of owning and using a gun but it does not tell you a lot of things..... Like, the responsibilities that come with ownership, and what is the right firearm for your purpose... Meaning, home protection or concealment.
So your buddy says you should by "THIS" gun because he has it and loves it and if you buy anything else you are a fool. Well, your buddy sounds like the salesman at the LGS.
Here is the "Truth".... There are a lot of variables as to what is the right gun for you. Here are some of the questions you have to ask yourself.....
1. What is the purpose of this gun, home or personal protection or both?
2. How do I plan on storing or carrying this gun?
3. How big or small of a gun is right for my purpose?
4. What caliber is right for me? Is bigger better?
5. Revolver, Semi Auto Pistol, Derringer, Shotgun?
I am Lenny Marraffino, owner of Spud9 Gunworks. I will be holding classes to help you figure out what is the right gun for YOU. Not your best buddy, not your dad's friend that owns a warehouse full of guns.... YOU!!!
In this class I will help you figure out what will fit your purpose. I will talk about some of the myths out there, discuss dressing to carry for both men and women and the different options, what you need to do to be competent with your firearm, ie training/practice, and help guide you to the right firearm purchase for you. I don't want to see you make the mistake a lot of people make by spending a lot of money and buying the wrong gun.
The class fee is $50, and you can bring a friend for free. If you take my class as a first time gun owner/buyer you will receive $25 off the purchase price of any firearm purchased thru Spud9 Gunworks. To sign up just give me a call to set a date and time. I look forward to seeing you in class..... and thank for supporting my small business.....
